DJ KAsRa

DJ Kasra — known in the Oslo Latin scene as Kasra Tazmini — is one of the more recognizable salsa and bachata DJs in Norway’s social dance community.

He became active around the late 2000s after developing a strong interest in Latin music and social dancing, and quickly built a reputation as a versatile DJ who could handle many different styles during one night.

People in the Norwegian scene often describe him as the DJ who can “play everything” while still keeping a coherent dance floor energy. That flexibility helped make him popular at mixed-format Latin nights and large social events.

He has DJ’d at many important Oslo socials and festivals over the years, including events connected to:​

• Sagene Salsa & Bachata nights

• Nordic Salsa & Bachata Festival

• Club SBK in Oslo city center

• international congresses and summer festivals

He’s also appeared at international events like the Summer Sensual Days festival in Croatia/Berlin Salsa Congress.

Compared with DJs who specialize very narrowly in mambo or Cuban salsa, Kasra is generally viewed as more crossover-oriented and socially adaptable — fitting the modern European Latin social format where salsa, bachata, kizomba, and zouk often share the same event.

He’s also connected with the extended network in Oslo alongside organizers and other DJ's, who helped shape the city’s Latin social scene over the last decade.
